Spring Student Orientation — 2020

Friday, January 10

Time Event
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Check-In for Orientation and Continental Breakfast: Get your Orientation packet, course schedule, free gifts, have questions answered, and have breakfast. Orientation staff will be here to help.
9 a.m. Welcome to ESF: A special welcome to campus for new students and their families.
9:15 a.m. A Conversation with the Dean: Join the Vice Provost and Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Anne Lombard for a conversation about ESF values and the expectations the College has for you.
10 a.m. The ESF Academic Experience: The Division of Student Affairs will discuss academic resources that are available to you on campus.
10:30 a.m. How to Register Tutorial and Textbook Overview: Beth Minard, Associate Registrar and Debbie Caviness, Director of Alumni Relations
11 a.m. Meet with Orientation Leadersand/or Campus Tour
12 p.m. Lunch Break with Curriculum Coordinators, Faculty, Staff, and Student Leaders
1 p.m. Faculty Meetings and Advising/Registration (See Orientation Guidebook for locations)
2 p.m. Schedule Adjustments and Textbooks (309, 310 Baker Lab) Student Orientation Leaders will be present to assist with on-line schedule adjustments until 4pm.
3 - 4:30 p.m. End of Day Reception (Baker Lab, 3rd Floor Reception Area) Come to this wrap up session for some refreshments, a chance to get any additional questions answered, and to meet more new students
4 - 5 p.m. Navigating the Centro Bus System: Meet outside of Centennial Hal

Joining us will be Laura Crandall and Sarah Houck, Student Involvement & Leadership; Casey Duffy, Career Services Coordinator, Amelia Hoffman, Academic Support Coordinator; Ann Moore, Office of Experiential Learning and Outreach; Erin Tochelli, Environmental Studies and Landscape Architecture Advisor, and Student Leaders

Monday, January 20

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a holiday observed by SUNY-ESF and Syracuse University so offices are closed and no classes are in session on Monday, January 21st. A Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the SU Carrier Dome is scheduled for January 26, 2020. More details will follow including information on how to obtain tickets.
