Spring Student Orientation 2021
To ensure the safety of all of our campus community during these unprecedented times, ESF has made the decision to hold Orientation online. Our goal for your Orientation program is to provide information to assist with your academic success, your social engagement, and connect you to a host of resources to help you transition successfully.
Please be patient with us as we want to provide the most helpful information as possible. More details will be available on this website as they become available. Information will also be emailed to your SYR.EDU email so you know how to access this information.
- Participate in Virtual Department Meetings and Course Registration to complete your Spring 2021 Schedule on Monday, February 1
- Attend Virtual Welcome to ESF sessions on Monday, February 1, 2021
10am: New Student Welcome via Zoom Link: Please join us for the annual and official kick off to your ESF College Career with your fellow new students. You will be welcomed by ESF President Joanie Mahoney, JD, ESF Interim Provost, Dr. David Newman, Dean for Student affairs Dr. Anne Lombard, Undergraduate Student Association President Lexi Chipules, as well as a few other key faculty, staff, and students of ESF. Register in advance for this meeting
11am: Department Meeting Welcome and Advising, held via Blackboard or pre-recorded and already in Blackboard
11:30am-4pm: Ongoing Advising/Schedule Adjustments
4pm: Inclusive Excellence Welcome Reception: You’re invited to the annual Inclusive Excellence Welcome Reception and Social Mixer! This social event will take place live on Zoom on Monday, February 1 at 4pm EST. Join us to hear from offices and student clubs who are here to support you. Meet new people in breakout rooms, and celebrate the start to your ESF education. All are welcome to attend, please register using the link in our bio so we know which breakout room you’d like to be in.
*Additionally, throughout the week of February 1st we will offer meet-ups via Zoom to have more opportunities to meet with staff and your peers.
