Special Session for PEF employees: This interactive, half-day workshop discusses strategies for studying and controlling invasive plant species. Participants will learn about the impact of invasive plants on local ecosystems. Topics include how invasive plants travel, what traits make them invasive, approaches for identifying and documenting invasive plant populations, and related legal restrictions. Participants will also practice identifying plant species in various habitats. Content of this workshop will deal with plant life and ecology specific to New York State. Some background in environmental science is recommended. Upon completion of this workshop, .3 Continuing Education Units (3 PDHs) will be awarded.
