Operation Wallacea coming to SUNY-ESF

A representative from Operation Wallacea [opwall.com] will be on campus on Thursday, October 3rd at 1pm in the Moon Library Room 110. There will also be a follow-up meeting Monday, October 7th at 1pm also in the Moon Library Room 110.
Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programs. These scientific expeditions are hosted in 9 different countries: Indonesia, Transylvania, South Africa, Madagascar, Peru, Guyana, Cuba, Honduras and Mexico. Students who join the programs gain experience working in the field, strengthen their CV or resume, have the opportunity to gain course credit, or may collect data for a thesis or project. More importantly, all research conducted is a contribution towards protecting valuable ecosystems by levering funding and monitoring the success of conservation management strategies.
