Adirondack Park Agency Director Joins ESF Board
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The executive director of the Adirondack Park Agency has been appointed to the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) board of trustees.
Daniel T. Fitts was appointed to the nine-member board by Gov. George Pataki.
Fitts has worked with the Adirondack Park Agency since 1987. He was supervisor of administrative services before taking over as executive director in January 1995. Before joining the agency, he was employed with state Sen. Ronald B. Stafford, R-Warren, for seven years, first as a legislative aide and then as Stafford's legislative director.
Fitts is a native of Rouses Point in Clinton County. He earned his bachelor's degree in environmental science from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1976. He earned a master's degree that was issued jointly by ESF and Syracuse University in 1980. The focus of his graduate study was law and policy administration, resource management, and land use planning.
Fitts, who resides in Lake Placid with his wife, Debbie, and three children, has been active in the Boy Scouts of America for several years.
