First Annual Rockwell Kent Day
Campus Calendar
Saturday, October 20, 2012
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Adirondack Interpretive Center
Event Description:
Artist, Adventurer, Activist, Adirondacker: Join us in celebrating and learning about one of our nation's most significant men of arts and letters. A presentation on Kent's artistic legacy, with many images of his work, will be presented by Caroline Welsh, Director Emeritus of the Adirondack Museum. ESF's Paul Hai and Marianne Patinelli-Dubay will provide readings and insights on Kent's physical and personal adventures. In addition, the AIC is excited to host two renowned artists, Sandy Hildreth and Bill Elkins, who will be painting and drawing along the trails. Come see their work, and consider bringing your journal or an art pad to practice alongside as you chat about techniques and tips. The day concludes with a light reception. The event is free, though please call to register.
