Event Description:

Gusti Ayu Fransiska Sri Rahajeng Kusuma Dewi is a Masters student in the Environmental Science program, interested in indigenous agriculture-related adaptation to climate change. For this seminar, she will dance the Tari Pendet Penyambutan, a traditional dance from Bali, Indonesia, in which offerings are made to purify the temple or theater as a prelude to ceremonies or other dances and welcome the gods and goddesses before the ceremony will be held in a temple. Afterwards, Gusti will present "How the Balinese of Indonesia Love the Earth" through food and tradition.
