Afton Resident Wins Fellowship at SUNY-ESF
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - An Afton resident has been awarded a $4,500 graduate fellowship to pursue his doctorate at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF).
Frederick Johnson received the John A. Meyer Graduate Fellowship for 1999-2000. The fellowship, awarded annually, honors students in degree programs that reflect the professional interests of the late John A. Meyer, who taught chemistry at ESF. He was affiliated with the college for more than 30 years.
Johnson is studying forest chemistry. He was chosen based on his academic performance and recognized potential.
