Carnegie Institute Scientist Speaks at ESF
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Dr. Marilyn L. Fogel, senior scientist at the geophysical laboratory at the Carnegie Institute of Washington, will speak at 4 p.m. Feb. 20 at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF).
Fogel's topic will be "Searching for Life on Mars: Would We Recognize It if We Found It? Chemical Clues to Life." She will speak in Room 5, Illick Hall, on the ESF campus.
Fogel is a biogeochemist who studies biological processes with isotopic tracers. Her goal is to understand reactions that occur in the environment both in modern and in ancient times.
Fogel's presentation is the second in ESF's spring Women in Scientific and Environmental Professions Speaker Series.
