NASA Administrator Visits SUNY-ESF Lab
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin will visit the Mapping Sciences Laboratory at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) during a visit to Syracuse Monday, March 12.
Goldin, accompanied by several key NASA administrators, will visit the lab in ESF's Bray Hall about 3 p.m.
ESF and NASA have been partners for two years in the space agency's Affiliated Research Center program. The ARC provides a connection between business and ESF's high-tech remote sensing and mapping technology. Businesses large and small can use the technology to develop and market innovative products and services.
ESF is also involved in a NASA effort to put remote sensing and other geographic information technologies to work for state forestry agencies.
