Professor Norton Named to Hungarian Academy of Science

SYRACUSE, N.Y. Dr. Roy A. Norton, a professor at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) has been elected an honorary member of the prestigious Hungarian Academy of Science.
Norton has been a member of ESF's Faculty of Environmental and Forest Biology since 1977. He is a specialist in invertebrate biology, entomology, evolutionary biology and biological systematics. Norton is a charter member of the Acarological Society of America (AAS) where he served on the executive committee; the European Association of Acarologists, the Systematic & Applied Acarology Society. He also served as the general secretary of the International Congress of Acarology. Along with his duties at ESF, Norton is also a research associate at The Field Museum in Chicago.
Norton earned his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from ESF.
