ESFs Convocation Recognizes December Graduates
December 7, 2001
About 100 students received their degrees Friday, Dec. 7, during the December Convocation of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). The mid-year ceremony was held in Hendricks Chapel on the Syracuse University campus.
About 80 students received bachelor’s degrees, 15 received master’s degrees, and 7 received doctor of philosophy degrees. Some of the students completed their course requirements in August.
Dr. Cornelius B, Murphy, Jr., president of the college, was the keynote speaker during the ceremony.
ESF’s mid-year convocation was established in 1985 to recognize the growing number of students who complete their degree requirements and leave campus to work or pursue further education, which makes it impossible for them to return for traditional commencement ceremonies in May.
