Meeting the Challenges of the Future
The winter meeting of the New York Society of American Foresters (NYSAF) will be held Jan. 30 - Feb. 1 at the Holiday Inn, Liverpool. The event, titled How Foresters Can Meet the Challenges of Tomorrow,"How is sponsored by the NYSAF in cooperation with the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Continuing Education Office.
Topics to be discussed include emerging issues for forest owners and the wood-using industry; helping the forester become a better leader, and trade with Canada. There will also be a meeting with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Lands and Forests Director Rob Davies, SUNY-ESF President Cornelius B. Murphy, Jr., and State Senator Nancy Larraine Hoffmann.
