Local Students Attend SUNY-ESF While in High School

Seven from Skaneateles

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Students from Skaneateles High School will participate in an exciting educational opportunity at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) in the fall of 2002.

Seven Skaneateles students have enrolled in the ESF in the High School program in which qualified high school students take Global Environment (EFB 120) and Writing and the Environment (CLL 190). The program enables participating high school students to experience college-level coursework firsthand; visit the ESF campus; meet and consult with the college faculty, staff, and students; use the college library and other facilities; and earn college credit while still in high school.

Skaneateles, Marcellus and DeRuyter high schools are currently participating in the program. Onondaga County BOCES' New Vision program and Beaver Run High School in Beaver Falls have recently joined.
