Talent show for Habitat

Monday, November 22, 2004

About 40 people attended a talent show Friday night sponsored by the Syracuse University and State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

The show, at Marshall Auditorium, started with a dance to Janet Jackson's "All Nite" by Danceworks, a musical performance by SUNY ESF student Matt Yates and stand-up comedy by SU student Danielle Brooks.

Other performances included a dance to "Nowadays" from "Chicago," a juggling act, tap dancing, stand-up comedy by SU student Matt Finley and a cappella versions of "Let Me Go" and "Sir Duke" performed by Groovestand.

During his improvised performance, SU student Adam Gold shared music he recorded on his cell phone the night before.

The show was hosted by Rick Wright, an associate professor of television, radio and film at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and host of the Power 106.9 "Old School Sunday" show.
