New York State Green Building Conference Announces New Partnership
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has joined ESF and the Syracuse Center of Excellence as a partner for the 2015 Green Building Conference. Rick Fedrizzi, CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council, will host a plenary session during this year's conference. Fedrizzi and his USGBC colleagues were awarded the United Nations Champion of the Earth award in November for their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program. ESF Quiz Bowl Team Scores Repeat Championship
Team from FNRM defeats field of 36 schools in SAF event
The Quiz Bowl team from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) repeated as champions at the Society of American Foresters (SAF) Student Quiz Bowl Oct. 23.
A team of students from the Department of Forest and Natural Resources Management won the quiz bowl held at the SAF Convention in Charleston, S.C. They beat a field of 36 schools to defend last year's title. Team members were Lowell Chamberlain, junior; Courtney Compton, graduate student; Jordan Heller, senior; and Laurie Raskin, senior.
ESF defeated the University of Georgia, University of California Berkeley in preliminary rounds and beat Utah State University in the championship round.
The SAF Quiz Bowl trophy will be housed at ESF for the next year.Office of Communications
