Personal Statement
I like to grow plants, but a sense of wonder is the most beautiful thing to cultivate. At this time, I'm focused on the human relationship with ecological sustainability I would like to integrate my three interests - biomimicry, ecological design, and phytotechnology - into a study of ecological engineering so that I may better understand how to design, implement, and manage systems and technologies that ameliorate human impacts on natural resources.

Graduate Research Topic
The optimization of thermal and water fluxes on green roof microcosms with native plant species.

Personal Statement
First and foremost, I am both an artist and a scientist. I think a lot of people tend to treat the two as separate entities, but my experience has shown that art and science build upon and inspire each other. I decided to pursue environmental science because it is something we are surrounded by every day. Earth is a wonderful and majestic little rock that we live on. There is comfortable familiarity yet so much mystery. It inspires scientific curiosity and artistic creativity at the same time, and it is truly beautiful.

Graduate Research Topic
Carbon sequestration and green infrastructure
