Areas of Interest

• My research thus far has focused on infectious diseases in fishes of commercial, ecological, and veterinary importance.
• I employ the tools of molecular systematics to delineate species and strains of pathogens.
• These data are used to evaluate the evolutionary history of pathogenic organisms.
• From an applied perspective, we can improve animal health by understanding the distribution and diversity of important disease causing organisms.

Prospective Students

From time to time there I will be seeking students for specific projects. However, I'm generally looking for self motivated individuals interested in fish diseases, parasitology, microbiology, or systematics.
