Beavers at Work Cause Problems
Highway crews continue to battle beavers throughout Central New York for control of local roads. Ronald Giegerich, curator for the Wildlife Collection at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry says beavers can change an entire landscape by creating huge ponds and building lodges in safe locations. USA Recognizes Faculty/Staff Trio

ESF to Confer Degrees at Commencement Ceremony
The SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) will confer about 411 degrees during joint Commencement exercises with Syracuse University May 11, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Carrier Dome. (5/5)

Governor Wants SUNY to Cut Spending
The president of SUNY ESF says it would set the system back five to ten years. Neil Murphy says his campus stands to lose almost $6 million. Murphy says the school may be forced to enter a smaller class than it was planning for the fall. (5/1)
ESF Launches New Logo
ESF has unveiled a new College logo that has a contemporary feel while acknowledging the College’s deep forestry roots. Developed by ESF’s Office of Communications, the new “leaf and acorn” logo was the frontrunner in a survey of ESF alumni, students, faculty, and staff. (4/28)
