ESF Alumnus Inducted into NGA Hall of Fame
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has inducted SUNY-ESF graduate Curtis B. Ward '72 into its Hall of Fame.
Chemistry Senior Receives ACS Award

Germain's Research Focuses on Working Forests
Rene Germain's ambition is to help people and working forests. He conducts applied research that keeps him in the woods and working closely with the very forest practitioners who benefit from his research findings.
ESF Student Named Scholar Athlete
ESF student Zachary Kalette has received the Chancellor's Scholar Athlete Award. Kalette, a member of ESF's basketball team, is a senior in the college's five-year landscape architecture program. He is a resident of Fayetteville, N.Y.
College Begins Expansion of Centennial Hall
ESF has embarked on a project to expand its first residence hall, Centennial Hall, in a response to student interest that has kept the building at capacity for its first two years. A five-story, 84-bed addition will be constructed on the west end of the residence hall.
Loon Race, Guide Boat Celebrate Summer at Newcomb Campus
The Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC) kicks off the summer season with plans for its second rubber loon race and the return to Newcomb of a 100-year-old Adirondack guide boat May 25. The two events will be the centerpiece activities of the AIC's second annual Loons and Logs Day, celebrating the AIC's second year of operation as part of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry's (ESF) Newcomb Campus
High-tech, Remote-controlled Vessels Gather Data in Lake Ontario
Dr. Gregory Boyer is participating this week in a project that launches two autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in Lake Ontario to produce intensive data for analysis of nearshore-offshore interactions, fish productivity, changes to the lower food web and algal abundance.
