Coast to Coast

A coast-to-coast bike tour of the United States - 58 days, 4,200 miles and enough memories for most people to last a lifetime. That's how Malcolm Moncheur spent the summer of 2014. However, for Moncheur, a senior bioprocess engineering major, one cross-country bike tour just might be the beginning.

Kimmerer to Speak at U.N.

Dr. Robin Kimmerer of the ESF Department of Environmental and Forest Biology has been invited by the president of the United Nations General Assembly to give a presentation at the U.N. Monday, April 27.

ESF among Princeton Review’s Top 50 Green Colleges

ESF has earned a spot on the Princeton Review's "Top 50 Green Colleges." ESF, one of only two SUNY schools to make the list, was ranked No. 33 in the recently released list. The college is lauded for its specialized study options within its various environmentally focused majors.

Murphy Named Honorary Chair of World Canal Conference

New York State Canal Corporation Director Brian U. Stratton has announced that Cornelius "Neil" Murphy, Jr., ESF senior fellow and former president, will serve as honorary chair of the 2017 World Canals Conference (WCC) in Syracuse in September 2017.

Singing to the Earth Until a Tree Grows

"Singing to the Earth Until a Tree Grows" is a short film set in the future about the effects of climate change on our world. It explores the lives of two people, possibly the last man and woman on Earth, as they try to live their lives in this new reality.

New in Town: START-UP NY Links New Company with ESF

Windsor Wood-a carpentry business based in India that specializes in creating Windsor chairs-is expanding and moving a branch of its business to Syracuse. Partnering with ESF, Windsor Wood USA will manufacture stronger and more resilient hardwood products, such as baseball bats, building materials, and interior car parts, using less desirable woods, such as hickory, white ash, and maple.
