Mighty Oaks Fall to Penn State Scranton in Home Opener

The Mighty Oaks fought hard and came close several times to taking the lead over Penn State Scranton but ended up losing 85-76 in their home opener Nov. 21.

Professor Joins Expedition to Galapagos Home of Rare Tortoises

An ESF professor is among a group of scientists participating in an expedition to a remote volcano in the Galapagos Islands to search out rare giant tortoises, some of which were found to carry the genes of two species thought, until recently, to be extinct.

Basketball team falls to OCC

The ESF men's basketball team fell to the Lazers of Onondaga Community College 83-62 at Allyn Hall Gymnasium Nov. 18.

ESF Honors Location on Haudenosaunee Territory

ESF President Quentin Wheeler, joined by leaders of the ESF Center for Native Peoples and the Environment, members of the Onondaga Nation and ESF students, Wednesday, Nov. 18, announced the college's recognition of its location on the original territory of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and his intention to formally share that acknowledgement with visitors to the campus.

Mighty Oaks Athletes Earn All-American Honors

As the 2015 fall sports season comes to a close, the USCAA named its 2015 All-American and Academic All-American teams.

Women's Soccer Team Falls in Semifinals

It was familiar territory and a familiar opponent for the Mighty Oaks as they fell to Albany College of Pharmacy 1-0 in the semifinals of the USCAA soccer national championships in Asheville, N.C. The Mighty Oaks defeated Illinois Tech, 1-0, in the quarterfinals the previous day to setup the matchup.

ESF Men 2nd, Women 3rd at XC Championships

The Mighty Oaks men's cross-country team finished second and the women's team was third Friday, Nov. 6, at the 2015 USCAA cross-country national championships in Lakeland, Florida.
