February 2, 2008 - 309 Baker Laboratory

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will be participating in the SUNY Student Statewide Financial Aid Day again this year.  This service is designed to answer questions and provide assistance regarding the financial aid application, types of aid available, and the award process.  SUNY ESF financial aid professionals will be available to provide assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required for all financial aid.

Program Agenda

Please note that the program at SUNY ESF is primarily designed to assist with FAFSA completion and answer any associated questions.  Students or families interested in a more detailed presentation of general financial aid information may wish to consider attending a local high school's "Financial Aid Night" or one of SUNY ESF's Open House events.

  • 8:30 - 9:00 AM - Registration and Refreshments
  • 9:00 - 9:15 AM - Welcome and Session Overview
  • 9:15 - 12:00 PM - Financial Aid Assistance and FAFSA Completion
  • Individual counseling will be provided as necessary to address specific questions and concerns.

Directions

From Points East of Syracuse:

  1. New York State Thruway (I-90) west to exit 36 for I-81 south.
  2. I-81 south to exit 18 for East Adams Street (follow signs).
  3. Turn left onto East Adams Street; proceed two blocks to Irving Avenue.
  4. Turn right onto Irving Avenue. Follow Irving Avenue to the end.
  5. The ESF campus entrance is on your left, next to the Carrier Dome.

From Points South of Syracuse:

  1. I-81 north to exit 18 for East Adams Street.
  2. Turn right onto East Adams Street at the end of the exit ramp.
  3. Proceed two blocks to Irving Avenue.
  4. Turn right onto Irving Avenue. Follow Irving Avenue to the end.
  5. The ESF campus entrance is on your left, next to the Carrier Dome.

From Points West of Syracuse:

  1. New York State Thruway (I-90) east to exit 36 for I-81 south.

Parking

Once at the ESF Main Gate, follow the route indicated on the map to the parking area behind Baker Laboratory.  If no spaces are available behind Baker Laboratory please use the Moon Library lot indicated on the map.  Other campus maps can be found here.

Registration

To sign up for the SUNY Student Financial Aid Day at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry, please click on the button below.  You will be directed to the SUNY registration page at http://www.suny.edu/Student/event_listing/.  If you encounter any registration problems or to register by phone, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (315) 470-6670 or finaid@esf.edu.

Be Prepared!

Prior to arriving at the Financial Aid Day session, it is highly recommended that you complete the following:

  • Obtain a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the student and at least one parent.  PIN Numbers can be requested online at http://www.pin.ed.gov.
  • Complete the FAFSA Pre-Application Worksheet.  The worksheet is available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or from the button below.

Note:  If you have not yet completed your 2007 Federal Tax Return, be prepared to estimate the information!
