SUNY Financial Aid Day

Saturday - February 11, 2012 - Baker Laboratory - Rooms 309/314

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will be participating in the SUNY Student Statewide Financial Aid Day again this year.  This service is designed to faciliate completion of the main federal and state financial aid applications.  SUNY ESF financial aid professionals will be available to provide assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is required for all financial aid, and the New York State Express TAP Application (ETA).

Program Agenda

Please note that the program at SUNY ESF is primarily designed to assist with FAFSA completion and answer any associated questions.  Students or families interested in a more detailed presentation of general financial aid information may wish to consider attending a local high school's "Financial Aid Night" or one of SUNY ESF's Open House events.

  • 8:30 - 9:00 AM - Registration and Refreshments
  • 9:00 - 9:15 AM - Welcome and Session Overview
  • 9:15 - 11:30 AM - Financial Aid Assistance and FAFSA Completion
  • Individual counseling will be provided as necessary to address specific questions and concerns.

Directions

From Points East of Syracuse:

  1. New York State Thruway (I-90) west to exit 36 for I-81 south.
  2. I-81 south to exit 18 for East Adams Street (follow signs).
  3. Turn left onto East Adams Street; proceed two blocks to Irving Avenue.
  4. Turn right onto Irving Avenue. Follow Irving Avenue to the end.
  5. The ESF campus entrance is on your left, next to the Carrier Dome.

From Points South of Syracuse:

  1. I-81 north to exit 18 for East Adams Street.
  2. Turn right onto East Adams Street at the end of the exit ramp.
  3. Proceed two blocks to Irving Avenue.
  4. Turn right onto Irving Avenue. Follow Irving Avenue to the end.
  5. The ESF campus entrance is on your left, next to the Carrier Dome.

From Points West of Syracuse:

  1. New York State Thruway (I-90) east to exit 36 for I-81 south.

Parking

Proceed to the ESF Campus entrance at the south end of Irving Avenue. Due to construction of ESF’s new Gateway Building, visitors using on-campus parking should enter through the Card Access Control Gate located at the south end of Stadium Place. From the south end of Irving Avenue, turn right onto East Raynor Avenue.  Take the next left onto Stadium Place and follow to the end.  Financial Aid Day guests should park in Lot P17, P18, or P19 as indicated on the map.   Overflow parking is available in Lot P7, P8, or P9.  Please enter Baker Laboratory using the southern entrance (Lots P17-19) or through the main entrance to Jahn Laboratory (Lots P7-P9) and follow the indoor tunnel to Baker Laboratory.  Construction on campus will also disrupt many sidewalk areas, so we ask that you be cautious and comply with pedestrian pathways when redirected around construction areas. Registration

Be Prepared!

Prior to arriving at the Financial Aid Day session, it is highly recommended that you complete the following:

  • Obtain a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the student and at least one parent.  PIN Numbers can be requested online at http://www.pin.ed.gov.
  • Complete the FAFSA Pre-Application Worksheet.  The worksheet is available at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or from the button below.

Note:  If you have not yet completed your 2011 Federal Tax Return, be prepared to estimate the information!
