Financial Literacy Programs
Introduction
SUNY ESF is committed to helping students gain a working knowledge of their own personal finances and providing the skills necessary for maintaining financial health. All ESF students are encouraged to take advantage of the following services offered by the College and its industry partners.
Financial Literacy Series for ESF Students
The ESF Office of Financial Aid is pleased to announce its 2007-08
Financial Literacy program series for all ESF Undergraduate and
Graduate students. Faculty and Staff are welcome to attend too.
The purpose of the series is to provide ESF students with a basic
working knowledge of their own personal finances, credit cards,
financial pitfalls, budget issues and identity theft. The presenters at
these workshops will be expert individuals from areas of consumer
credit counseling. All sessions will run approximately one hour
in length and will be held in Baker
Lab Room 146.
Refreshments and prize raffles will be available at each session!

Your Credit Life Story and
Student Loan Exit Counseling Do you know what credit companies already know about you? Believe it or not it’s already written, published and out on the streets. Come listen and find out how to protect yourself and your credit. Additionally, for those graduating student we will spend time at the end of the session doing a group exit counseling on student loans. The session will cover your repayment options, loan forgiveness programs etc. |

Financial Literacy Online
National Student Loan
Program (NSLP) developed Financial Literacy Online as a
free, online learning center designed to educate students about the
basics of personal money management. The courses are for students
who are planning for college, enrolled in college, planning to gradaute
from college or recent graduates. However, anyone who wants to
learn about money management - including parents - may take the courses.
Topics available include:
- Budgeting
- Contracts
- Credit
- Credit history
- Financing Education
- Identity theft
Eligible students will receive one entry into a monthly $500 scholarship drawing for each successfully completed course. A total of six entries may be earned for one drawing if all six courses are completed within that month!
