  1. David M. Theobald, 2007, GIS Concepts and ArcGIS Methods. 3rd Ed. Conservation Planning Technologies, Fort Collins. 444 pp Available at Folletts Orange Bookstore in Marshall Square Mall, 720 University Ave. You can probably use the 2nd edition but there are significant differences between ArcGIS 9.1 and 9.2. Theobald is not really a textbook in the traditional sense but an excellent reference containing many useful methods for doing things. There are reading assignments in this book and that is why it is recommend!
