FOR496 sec 1(#21565) and FOR796.Sec 6. (#21566) Data Conversion for GIS. This course is designed for people who need to know how to convert manuscript (paper, mylar, etc.) maps to digital form using ESRI ArcInfo software. ArcInfo uses a DOS command line interface for most operations and thus there is a requirment that the student understand DOS and can visualize and navigate DOS file structures -- we will not teach DOS!. The course consists of 1 hour of lecture and 2 hrs of lab each week for the first third of the semester. It is designed to run in parallel with FOR557.
