GLRC 20th Annual Conference
March 19-20, 2010
The 20th annual Great Lakes Research Consortium Student-Faculty Conference will be held March 19-20, 2010 at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York. The Great Lakes Research Consortium's annual conference provides New York and Ontario's Great Lakes researchers, students, agencies and advocates with a forum to discuss current research, academic programs, science, and policy. The conference includes student research presentations, a poster session, a plenary session on Environmental Economics and the Great Lakes, a networking reception, a dinner banquet and an awards luncheon for best student presentations.

Great Lakes Day in Albany March 23rd
Great Lakes Day in Albany will be held March 23, 2010. The Great Lakes Research Consortium is hosting a competition for student posters to be presented during the event. Students attending will have the opportunity to meet other Great Lakes researchers, policy makers and advocates. Each student will receive a $100 award and up to $150 in travel support to attend the session.

Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Compact Report available
The Great Lakes Basin Advisory Council has released the draft report Our Great Lakes Water Resources: Conserving and Protecting Our Water Today for Use Tomorrow. This draft report offers recommendations to Governor Paterson and the NYS Legislature in response to the directive issued to the Council by the New York State Legislature in approving the ratifying legislation of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact (the Compact) in 2008.
