Student receives scholarship Scholarships

The Syracuse Pulp and Paper Foundation, Inc. awards scholarships to undergraduate students in Paper Science or Paper Engineering. SPPF scholarships are based on academic merit and awards vary based on cumulative grade point average. They are renewed each semester subject to scholarship committee approval.

Students who are accepted into the Paper Science or Paper Engineering program as Freshman are awarded the full scholarship for their first year at SUNY ESF.  This is $2,175 per semester. The following eligibility requirements and restrictions apply to all others, effective Spring 2007:

The scholarship program may be changed per the recommendation of the Foundation's Scholarship Committee and the approval of the board of directors. Awards may vary according to available resources. These awards are merit-based and subject to change.

The Foundation also sponsors some special awards.  The Solvay Paperboard Undergraduate Scholarship is a full-tuition plus award based on merit, community service and need.  The Renata Marton Graduate Award given annually to a masters or Ph.D. candidate enrolled in Paper and Bioprocess Engineering at ESF.  The Solvay Paperboard Graduate Scholarship is given to a graduate student whose studies are focused on Paper Recycling.  Students must apply annually to be considered for these scholarships.
