How to Apply
ESF participates in the common SUNY application process. Students may apply to the College through several routes:
- Freshman admission (regular or early action)
- Guaranteed transfer admission
- Transfer admission
Each type of application requires the student to have a specific academic background, and to have maintained satisfactory academic progress at their previous educational institution. The application forms may be completed on paper or electronically. Both procedures are outlined below.
Online Application Procedures
In recent years, an increasing number of students prefer to complete their undergraduate admissions applications electronically. ESF accepts online undergraduate admissions applications, which are still processed through the Application Processing Center in Albany, not the College. You can apply electronically by using the link to the SUNY Application below.
SUNY Online Direct allows applicants to apply to State University colleges and universities online. You can also get information on Financial Aid and the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), SAT/ACT scores and GPAs of the incoming freshman class. And you can view the State University Information Summary Sheet, which covers specific campus programs.

Paper Application Procedures
Students may apply for admission using either the SUNY Application Viewbook or ESF’s Undergraduate Admissions Application. Application forms are available from high school guidance offices, college admissions offices or directly from the undergraduate admissions office at ESF.
