Alumni Spotlight: ESF Sweethearts

Happy Valentine’s Day, Mighty Oaks 💚🤎 We’re celebrating all the sweethearts that forged their bonds of love at ESF. We caught up with three couples to hear about their love!

Staff Spotlight: Tyler Dorholt

SUMMARY: Tyler Dorholt is an Assistant Professor, Director of the Writing, Rhetoric, and Communications Program, and coordinator of the Digital Storytelling Studio at ESF. He recently earned tenure-track- faculty status after serving at ESF since 2018. Tyler has held jobs with comedian Louie Anderson, Guinness Brewery in Dublin, and over 40 total jobs. We sat down with Tyler to learn about some of his favorite things about ESF and life.

Staff Spotlight: Erin Tochelli

SUMMARY: Erin Tochelli recently earned a promotion to Associate Director of Academic Administration at ESF. During her seven years at ESF, has brought tremendous value to curriculum approval processes, SUNY academic requirements, and advising for Environmental Studies and Landscape Architecture. In her new role, she plans to bring a holistic, student-centered approach to academic procedures while working to further improve processes. We sat down to catch up with Erin about her time at ESF!

Mighty Oaks Soccer Teams Start Season with Victories

ESF Weather Alert: ESF Monitoring Wind Chill

ESF is monitoring weather conditions for today, Feb. 3, through tomorrow morning by reviewing the most up-to-date National Weather Service data and forecasting, and in consultation with Syracuse University officials, SU's independent meteorologist, ESF University Police, and the ESF Grounds/Snow Removal crews.

ESF Weather Alert: Dangerously Cold Wind

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill alert starting Friday and into this weekend across Upstate New York. Many areas will experience below-zero temperatures and wind gusts that could generate extreme wind chills, in some cases over 50 degrees below zero.

Men’s Basketball Team Hits Triple Digits in Cannoneers Win

The Mighty Oaks men's basketball team hit a season-high 100 points in its 100-79 victory over Pratt Institute on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Onondaga Community College.

Dr. Chang Geun Yoo Receives NSF CAREER Award

Developing ways to increase the sustainability of the paper industry and potentially drive down the cost of biofuels has earned Dr. Chang Geun Yoo the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, the most prestigious grant that NSF offers to early-career faculty. Dr. Yoo is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF).
