Monday, October 8, 2018
2:55 pm - 3:55 pm
Location: Teaching & Learning Collaboratory, 240 Gateway Center
Event Description: The OSCQR (Open SUNY Course Quality Review) Rubric is a course-level design rubric based on online best practices that has been adopted by much of SUNY and also the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) for reviewing and improving the instructional design and accessibility of online courses. The Open Academy is using OSCQR as a key aspect of our online education approach and we believe it has benefit for those of you interested in online education, and as a way to reflect on design quality for any course that is utilizing some online resources.
This 1st session of 3 will introduce you to using the OSCQR Rubric and the companion website http://oscqr.org/, and lay the groundwork for the other sessions. The remaining sessions will entail reviewing example online courses from SUNY using portions of the OSCQR rubric and then discussing the reviews and recommendations from the reviews. The three sessions are also part of the Seminar on College Teaching course, EFB 797/FOR 797.
