Event Description: Andrea Micangeli Ph.D., “Energy Systems” Professor of Sapienza University of Rome and SUNY-ESF Adjunct Professor, will make this presentation to the ERE Humanitarian Engineering for Development Workers class. Professor Micangeli has worked with Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya to develop a rural electification program for East Africa and beyond. He offers field courses in East Africa and Latin America, which are described at Field Study Abroad - fieldstudyabroad.org. He is a main project leader for the Renewable Energy Systems for Africa, RES4Africa, Micro-Grid Academy, with more information at res4africa.org/micro-grid-academy/. Professor Micangeli has started the first National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenge Scholars Program in Europe, and collaborates with Professor Ted Endreny at SUNY-ESF on these projects.
