Grasses WorkshopCampus CalendarBotany Club on FB - You are welcome to join!
Friday, September 13, 2019
4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Location: 314 Illick, then outdoors on campus
Event Description: David Werier is giving a 3 hour grass identification workshop on campus next Friday! First we will look at grass morphology under microscopes, then we will go outside and look at grasses around campus, likely including rare native grasses on the Gateway green roof.
Many grasses are relatively easy to identify. Being able to identify them is critical for studying the ecology of a region, and can enhance one’s appreciation of what grows around us.
David Werier is a student of the flora of New York. He is the author of the recent Catalogue of the Vascular Plants of New York State. He has taught numerous workshops on different taxonomic groups including grasses.
~Please join us and learn about the subtle world of GRASS!~
All are welcome - students, staff, faculty, alumni and the public!
