Event Description: The Curator of Malacology at the NYS Museum’s Field Research Laboratory, Dr. Denise Mayer, will be speaking about the freshwater mussels found in New York. Also known at bi-valves, these mollusks have surprisingly complicated lives and play an important role in water quality.
