The Nature of Fly Fishing: Rod Building WorkshopCampus Calendar

Location: Adirondack Interpretive Center, Newcomb, NY

Event Description: Join Rick Kovacs, Adirondack Fly Fishing Guide, for a 3-part series on rod building and fly tying. Experience the joys of building your own Fly-Rod. Work with Rick to select a rod kit that suits your needs and learn the simple techniques to build it. Participants will choose and order a Fly-Rod kit with Rick’s assistance on February 25 and build it on March 10. Estimated cost per kit: $80-$90 depending on weight and length of rod. Rod value when completed: $150-$200!

Meet back with Rick to build your own Fly-Rod and take it home the same day!
Saturday, April 28, 9am-3pm—Introduction to Fly Tying Workshop
Get ready for the season! Rick leads you through an introduction to Fly Tying and basic techniques to build your own ties! $45 will cover your very own fly tying tool kit to take home.
Advanced registration is mandatory and participation will be on a first-paid, first-reserved basis. There is a registration fee of $25 per person for each session, $15 for API members. Bring your lunch to each workshop! Call or email to register.
