Dr. Carmen McCoy-Harrison
Director of Multicultural Outreach
On Saturday morning, April 5th, Dr. Carmen McCoy-Harrison passed away from complications related to a rare blood disorder. Carmen had been hospitalized for several weeks following an earlier surgery. Her mother, daughter, husband and family members were with her at the time of her death. Carmen's spirit and gifts were like no other. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service has been scheduled by Carmen's church for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday April 8th--the Abundant Life Christian Center, 7000 All Nations Blvd., East Syracuse. Students who wish to attend may contact Sue Nevins in 110 Bray, 470-6660, for directions and ride information.
The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to a scholarship fund in Carmen's name, through the ESF College Foundation, 204 Bray Hall, 470-6683.
A memorial service on the ESF campus is currently being planned. Students and staff will be notified by email Monday. Please share this information with those who do not regularly access their email.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Carmen's daughter, Skye, and her family and friends during this very difficult time of loss.
