Description

The Cornell University Biological Field Station (CBFS) is located at Shackelton Point on Oneida Lake near Bridgeport, NY. The weather station currently reports meteorological conditions from sensors located on the top of an observation tower approximately 40 feet above water level. Real time water quality monitoring is currently under development and will be made available as it comes online.

The system is maintained and operated by the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in collaboration with Cornell University. Funding for this buoy comes from the Great Lakes Research Consortium (GLRC), Cornell University Biological Field Station, and from SUNY ESF.
