Applying to Study Abroad
ESF Faculty-Led Courses
The application process is varied depending on program. Contact faculty leading course for more details. Following acceptance you will need to complete additional paperwork with the Office of International Education.
Remember, international courses are extremely popular and fill up fast. Plan ahead and register early to take advantage. For questions or concerns, reach out to the study abroad office anytime: studyabroad@esf.edu
Exchange Programs
- Fill out the program application
- Fill out the academic plan form
- Write a reflective essay reasoning your desire to participate in the program (full prompt is in the program application)
- Secure two academic references
If you are applying to the Munich University of Applied Science, you must obtain a nomination from the program’s coordinator Dr. Klaus Doelle, 416 Walters Hall, kdoelle@esf.edu.
Application due dates:
- Oct. 1 for spring programs
- March 1 for summer or fall programs
Partner Programs
Apply to your selected program. Refer to the website of your selected program for more information on their unique application requirements, due dates, and eligibility.
- Fill out the Academic Plan form with your advisor
- Complete ESF Partner Program application
Reach out to the Study Abroad office for assistance.
ESF application due dates:
- Nov. 1 for spring programs
- April 1 for summer or fall programs
It’s also required to be eligible for study abroad, students must be in good student conduct standing, have completed at least 30 credits towards their degree, and have achieved a 2.0 (in most cases 3.0) cumulative GPA or higher.
