Woodsmen's Teams Finish Second at Home Meet
The ESF Woodsmen's team rounded out its fall season by hosting the 13th Annual East Coast Lumberjack Roundup in Tully, New York. ESF hosted 28 teams from eight schools for this event.
The Mighty Oaks showed a strong performance against much of the competition. Both the men's and women's teams placed second overall.
Some of the highlights from the day include:
Men's team:
-The Men's A team won the log roll team event.
-Seniors Colin Cusick and Jake Kelly won the doubles crosscut event.
-Senior Ethan Justinger won the hard hit event.
-Junior Ben Karlson won the obstacle pole event.
Women's team:
-The Women's A team won the bow saw, crosscut, and log roll.
-Senior Michelle Vasiloff won the cookie stack event.
-Freshman Madeleine Desrochers won the obstacle pole event.
-Junior Eliza Phillips won the singles firebuild event.
The team's spring season will start in February with a competition at Morrisville State College.
