Integrating Indigenous and Scientific Knowledges for Environmental Sustainability.

Collaboration between Indigenous and Scientific Knowledges for Environmental Sustainability

Are you interested in conducting research at the interface of Indigenous and scientific knowledges?

Do you want a STEM career in service to land and culture?

The Center for Native Peoples and the Environment at the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science & Forestry is recruiting graduate students interested in a diverse range of environmental sciences from ecology, sustainability, conservation biology to restoration and environmental engineering.

As a member of the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership (SIGP), the Center supports the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives, knowledge, values, and experiences in scientific research, teaching, and community engagement. The program allows scholars to address issues relevant to Indigenous communities while encouraging and preparing talented students who have such interests and expertise to pursue STEM graduate education and careers.

The SIGP program provides funding support for tuition and stipends as well as mentorship opportunities across the national SIGP network.
