Annual Service of Commemoration Is March 22

A Service of Commemoration honoring members of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) and Syracuse University (SU) communities who passed away from Jan. 1, 2021, to present will be held Tuesday, March 22 at 4 p.m. in Hendricks Chapel. The service will also be offered on Zoom. American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) will be provided.

Those honored include current students, faculty and staff; retirees; trustees; and honorary degree recipients of ESF and SU. The names of those associated with ESF and who have passed away will be read by Dr. Samuel Mukasa and candles will be lit collectively in their memory. The service will also include prayer, music and remarks.

The service is inspired by the Remembrance Scholars' motto of "Look Back, Act Forward," a call to action to remember those we have lost and act forward in their memory. All are welcome to attend and honor the important contributions of respected members of the University community.
