Summer temperatures typically range from 70-90°F (32.2°C) and in the winter plunge to -10°F (-24.4°C).You should be aware that most buildings are centrally heated to about 70°F (21.1°C) so that when one dresses for the day during the winter, one must actually accommodate a range of temperatures for transitioning from outside to inside. In the winter, most people tend to layer clothing as opposed to wearing one extremely warm outfit. A coat, hat, snow boots, scarf, and warm gloves are a recommended gear for outdoors in the winter.

Transportation
Syracuse is easily accessible by a variety of transportation means. It is located at the crossroads of two major interstate highways, I-90 (east-west) and I-81 (north-south). Syracuse's Hancock International Airport is served by seven major airlines ( American Airlines; Continental;Delta; JetBlue; Northwest; and United Express; ) with approximately 200 passenger flights arriving and departing daily. Greyhound and Trailways provide inter-city, inter-state bus service passenger service while Amtrak provides rail passenger service from the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center.
CENTRO provides public bus service for Syracuse and Onondaga County and provides numerous University-area shuttles. Students can ride Centro’s Connective Corridor shuttle bus without charge to art and entertainment venues and public places between Syracuse University and the Delavan Art Gallery, including Armory Square.
