Our Facilities

Comprehensive methods in biomass characterization and processing are available in the ESF facilities in Jahn Laboratory, Walters Hall (Chemical Engineering), and Baker Laboratory (NC Brown Center).  These facilities are available for fundamental studies in physicochemical and topochemical characterization of raw and processed biomass and their products (NMR, SEC, SEM/TEM, GC-MS/FID, HPLC) and scale-up opportunities (from lab to pilot scale biomass preparation and processing).
