Named Business Equality Magazine's "Top 40 LGBTQ Under 40" for 2020. They aspire to be an example to those who seek to change the way we discuss the Black, queer experience.

ESF staff presents at SUNY Spectrum Conference: SPECTRUM (Sexual & Interpersonal Violence Prevention Education, Capacity Building, and Training in Response for Underserved Sexual and Gender Minorities) is the nation's largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQI+ community. Members of the ESF community presented at the SUNY Spectrum Conference, held virtually, the week of Aug. 24. Speaking on the topic "You saved my life: Restroom Stories of Safety and Survival - Messaging, Hygiene Products & Prophylactics" were Dr. Malika Carter, chief diversity officer; Heather Engelman, instructional support technician; Sue Fassler, sustainable facilities manager; Kerrie Findlay, coordinator of education abroad; and Rebecca Hoda-Kearse, Title IX / affirmative action officer. Providing safe restrooms on campus is one of the most important commitments that can be made in supporting a culture of belonging on campuses. The ESF team along with colleagues from SUNY Upstate Medical University shared successes and failures with leadership buy-in, messaging, restroom renovations, signage, and complimentary hygiene and prophylactic products.
