Ecological engineering and sustainable wastewater treatment (constructed wetland and similarly constructed ecosystems, anammox-based nitrogen removal processes, treatment mechanisms);
Environmental engineering and resource recovery from bioresidues (anaerobic digestion, ammonia recovery, struvite recovery, kinetics and microbial ecology of treatment systems, slow pyrolysis and biochar)
