Keynote Speaker

Tye Farrow, Senior Partner, Farrow Partners Architect

Working at the intersection of architecture and neuroscience, Tye Farrow is a world-recognized pioneer tackling how what we create either gives or cause health. With award-winning projects around the globe that enact salutogenic design—design that actively incites health - he is the first Canadian architect to have earned a Master of Neuroscience Applied to Architecture and Design (University of Venice IUAV), and has a Master of Architecture in Urban Design (Harvard University), and a Bachelor of Architecture degree (University of Toronto).

Speakers

Tyler Cabot, Project Manager, Timberlab

Tyler Cabot is a project manager with Timberlab. She trained as an architect and transitioned into construction when a mission to build community-minded and resilient structures led her to embrace mass timber. Her work started with traditional glulam post and beam designs, evolving into prefabricated CLT and glulam buildings. Most notably, her work on Carbon12 in Portland, Oregon garnered her a Women of Vision award. With Swinerton and now, Timberlab, Cabot has completed a variety of projects. Including the procurement and project management of Ascent, the tallest hybrid timber structure in the world and her current work on the procurement, fabrication and installation of Heartwood, an 8-story mass timber, type IV-C, work-force housing project in Seattle, WA.

Bruno Heim, Engineer, Nordic Sturctures

Bruno Heim is a manufacturing engineer working for Nordic Structures, and specializing in pre-fabricated, modular, panelized, Post & Beam, and timber frame construction. He brings a firm understanding of building science, high performance home construction, Net Zero, energy plus homes to each project. His understanding is founded on extensive education in Europe and North America. (Passive House, Minergie, LEED).

Patrick Larcom, CPHB, Project Manager & PH Builder, Haycon

Patrick Larcom is a coach and engineer working for Haycon as a project manager and passive house builder in Boston. He's passionate about connecting with people, continual learning, and changing lives. As a project manager at Haycon he gets to bring Passive House design to life. Working with all of Haycon's partners, his goal is to deliver airtight buildings that provide exceptional comfort and energy efficiency to residents and businesses in the Boston area.

Jeff Spiritos, Principal of Spiritos Properties, LLC

Jeff Spiritos has been involved in developing buildings since the late '70s, first with Hines, in and around New York City and for the past 15 years with Spiritos Properties. His work has been all different product types - from office, to residential, laboratory, institutional, and hotel. For the last six years, Spiritos and the company have focused on developing only mass timber projects, owing to the excitement and possibility of this newish building technology and the myriad of benefits that mass timber offers its occupants and the environment. Jeff is currently developing 340 Dixwell in New Haven, CT, which is slated to be Connecticut's first mass timber affordable housing project.
