Mighty Oaks Soccer: Women 4th in Nation, Men Tied for 9th

The Mighty Oaks of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) rank among the top soccer teams in the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).

The ESF women's team is the only undefeated team in the USCAA and has climbed to No. 4 in the association's national rankings. The ESF men's team is tied at No. 9 with the Wildcats of the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Both Mighty Oaks teams travel to Williamsport, Pa., today, to play the Wildcats.

Both ESF teams are coming off victories this past weekend against Cazenovia College. The women started the day with a solid performance and a 1-0 win. Junior Captain Bridget Cuddihy scored the game's only goal on a breakaway distributed by freshman Heather Carl.

The men stepped up play and finished two great goals against Cazenovia Saturday to post a 2-1 win. The Mighty Oaks controlled played throughout and outshot the Wildcats. The victory involved excellent play by three senior captains: a finish by Adam Scalisi and a corner kick goal by Ryan Graig served by Kyle Siegel.
