ESF Men 2nd, Women 3rd at XC Championships

The Mighty Oaks men's cross-country team finished second and the women's team was third Friday, Nov. 6, at the 2015 USCAA cross-country national championships in Lakeland, Florida.

The men's team lost its quest for a fifth straight title as Berea College of Kentucky got the win. The women ran to their fifth straight top-three finish.

For the men, two Mighty Oaks runners finished in the top 10. Junior Reed Scott finished in sixth place (27:48) and senior Christian Freeman placed 10th (28:24). Other leaders for the Mighty Oaks were Dana Carris (15th - 28:43), Stephen Slonosky (16th - 28:44), Peter LeDuc (22nd - 29:27) and Ryan Shaw (23rd - 29:29).

On the women's side, the team finished in third place behind Berea College and Cleary College. The ESF team finished in the top three each of the past four years (third in 2014, second in 2013, third in 2012 and second in 2011). The top female runner for the Mighty Oaks was freshman Marissa Lathrop with an eighth-place finish (24:47). Other leaders for the women's team were Cara Keogh (22nd - 26:08), Erin Cuddihy (23rd - 26:13), Camila Ferguson-Sierra (27th - 26:27) and Courtney Pitman (30th - 26:33).
