Cheryl Liptak Honored for Exemplary Service
Cheryl Liptak, clerk specialist II in the Office of Research Programs, was honored with the Improving Service Award during the 2019 Research Administrators Symposium earlier this spring.
The award recognizes outstanding performance in the area of customer service at the Research Foundations comprehensive colleges, universities and central office. Exceptional customer service requires daily attentiveness, proactivity, patience, time management, emotional intelligence, crisis management, and effective communication skills.
"As anyone on ESF campus who does research can attest, Cheryl consistently goes above and beyond to make sure that our researchers can and understand how to meet the many obligations required of them to fulfill their compliance requirements for their research activities," said Christopher Nomura, vice president for research. "She is an incredible asset to have at the college and we are so privileged to have her as part of the Office of Research Programs."
Liptak was nominated by her ESF colleagues for her ability to respond effectively to the needs and expectations of RF customers, external partners, employees, and sponsors; create successful solutions to address customers' needs and leverage new opportunities; manages all service problems politely and efficiently, always available for customers. Follows procedures to solve customer problems; maintains pleasant and professional image: understands SUNY's priorities and RF services; and understands the needs of RF customers, their workflow, and what is important to them on a daily basis.
