OIDE Announces Events

The Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (OIDE) announces a number of events and programs for the coming weeks.

Sign up to volunteer to assemble bags for violence victims and receive a bag for yourself as well as part of SUNY-ESF's Got Your Back from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 10 in the Gateway Center. Super Volunteers are needed who can designate two-plus hours of their time to the project to help with set-up, break-down and packaging of bags.

Lavender Graduation, the annual gathering of faculty, staff, students, and community members to celebrate and send off the members of the 2019 graduating class, is set for April 28

All graduating SU/ESF undergraduates and graduate students whose lived experience, scholarship, and/or leadership, have contributed to a positive LGBTQ climate on campus are invited to Lavender Graduation.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., April 28 in the Goldstein Faculty & Alumni Center. This ceremony is an annual gathering of faculty, staff, students, and community members to celebrate and send off the members of the 2019 graduating class. Those wanting to attend can register on the LGBT Resource Center website by April 14.

ASL/CART will be provided during the ceremony. For further accommodations, contact the Dr. Malika Carter, chief diversity officer.

A Title IX workshop will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. April 3 in 110 Moon Library. Sponsored by CARE, the workshop is an information session and discussion about the Title IX (sexual violence) reporting options and consent.
