Meet the Faculty - Chang Yoo
Dr. Chang Yoo’s journey to ESF began with a global perspective on sustainability. Growing up in South Korea, where natural resources are limited, sparked his early interest in renewable energy and biofuels. He shares how his curiosity led him to the U.S., through and ultimately to ESF — an institution with a long-standing reputation in biomass utilization and bio-based materials. Viewers will learn how his work focuses on moving beyond food-based fuels and instead turning non-edible biomass into cleaner, more sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based products.
Dr. Yoo’s teaching philosophy highlights research-driven classroom experience with an emphasis on connecting theory to real-world applications, sharing active research examples, future career paths, and the economic realities of green technologies.
