SUNY ESF
Educational Communications

Educational Communications provides the SUNY ESF community with an array of professional video production and event staging resources to allow clients to achieve their electronic media or event production goals.

ESFTV traces its roots back to the early twentieth century with the media pioneering efforts of the Office of Outreach. Radio programs and films produced beginning in the 1930's and extending into the late 1960's paved the way for the first ESF television studio that went online in 1971. By 1998, film production had ceased, and the television studio dormant.

Then in 2000, a resurgence of professional media production. A new production facility with edit suites and multi-camera studio helped to spur digital production. By 2010 ESFTV was producing in HD and streaming on various platforms.

ESFTV on YouTube contains over 400 produced programs, viewed by millions world wide.

Event Production division provides "front of house" support for in-person attended events at ESF. Our group has experience with major sponsored lectures, formal dinners, awards programs, graduations, convocations, meetings or gatherings, and "Town Hall" events. Support for LIVE audio mixing, and presentation electronic imagery are among the services available.

Academic Media Production provides faculty with the opportunity to create content for the classroom and publication without the hassle or worry of managing the technical aspects of high quality media production. Flipped classroom presentations, or training segments can be developed with ease. Assistance with recording and or streaming of lectures is also available.
