Signing In
The library discovery system, PrimoVE, can be accessed through the Moon Library homepage by typing anything into the search box. This will initiate a search and open the discovery interface. It is good to begin your searches this way as the discovery system is integrated with all of the Moon Library resources and collections. You will see a yellow bar prompting you to "sign in" as well as another "sign in" link in the upper righthand corner of the screen. The sign in utilizes your ESFid (your email address), password, and DUO 2-Factor authentication. Once you are signed in, you be able to utilize the features listed below.
Loans and Renewals
View all currently checked-out physical items, track due dates, and actively request renewals (such as standard ESF semester loan items).
Requests
Track the status of physical books or media requested for pickup at the Moon Library circulation desk.
Blocks and Messages
Check for any institutional notices or borrowing restrictions that might prevent checking out materials.
Saved Searches and Alerts
Students can save complex search queries they built for a capstone or research paper and set up automatic email alerts for when new peer-reviewed articles matching those criteria are indexed.
Saved Records (Favorites)
Clicking the "pin" icon on search results saves articles and books directly to their account favorites, allowing them to organize sources with custom tags (e.g., "BIOL 101 Paper").
Personal Details and Preferences
Allow students to set their default language interface and monitor their account expiration date.
Interlibrary Loan
In addition to physical resource sharing requests in PrimoVE, the library utilizes a separate interlibrary loan service to process both article and physical resource requests - ILLiad interlibrary loan account.
Syracuse University Accounts
To manage books borrowed directly from SU, log into the Syracuse University Libraries Account.
