Basketball Team Opens Season with Tough Loss

The Mighty Oaks men's basketball team kicked off its season Nov. 3 with a disappointing 64-62 loss against Broome Community College.

Matt Kowalski, who led the Oaks with 12 points and 6 assists, tied the game at 62-62 with just over 12 seconds left but Broome hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds left to take the lead for good. A last-second Joe Fabian jumper for ESF from 24 feet came up short.

The Oaks return to action Wednesday, Nov. 7, when they travel to Onondaga Community College. The tip will be at 8 p.m.
